Border Security . A nation that was created through immigration is now having to change it’s traditional past of welcoming the un-welcomed in order to protect it self from the unknown threat that has changed our world since September 11, 2001. “I’m worried about our border,” Sen. John McCain (R) of Arizona said at a March 17, 2005 Senate hearing on threats facing the US. “We have now hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people who are crossing illegally every year. And we are now seeing a larger number of people cross our southern border who are from countries of interest as opposed to just Latin American [countries].” The “countries of interest” that Senator McCain refers to are those so designated by the US government as known to house radical, if not terrorist, groups.
Illegal Immigration Crime Illegal immigrants are coming to America for more than just jobs. It appears that they are coming here to target Americans for murder, rape and other violent crimes. Facts about illegal immigration and the crime wave it is bringing across America. Representative Steve King of Iowa points out that 25 Americans, on average, are killed by illegal aliens every day . As I hear often, sure many of the illegal immigrants from Mexico are here only to work and support their families. The problem with this statement is that many illegal immigrants are not coming to America only to better their lives.
